When 2000 Census data was released, Washoe County’s population was 339,486 and 43,703 Washoe County residents 18-64 years of age lacked a High School Diploma or GED credential. In addition, approximately 33% of all Washoe county adults were functioning in the lowest two levels of literacy proficiency.
NNLC provides English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Skills, and GED preparatory instruction for adults, 18 years of age and over, who lack a high school diploma or GED or essential basic skills to function successfully in the workplace.
