Nevada GED On-line has a statewide staff to assist you with technical and subject-matter questions and can be reached in the following ways – help is just a phone call away:
Mike - Technical Assistant - 775-225-8177
Mike can assist you with technical issues that may arise when you are loading the program on your personal computer or if you have technical problems while working in the program. Mike uses the “Go to Meeting” internet-based program to assist you with these issues. “Go to Meeting” is a secure program that allows Mike to manipulate your computer while you watch from wherever you are. As previously stated, it is a secure program and Mike cannot manipulate anything on your computer without your allowing him to (he’ll explain more about "Go to Meeting" when you call him).
Vera - Retention Coordinator - 702-469-1185
Vera will call you on a regular basis (generally every two weeks) to check on your progress and see if you need any type of help. Vera is also the one you call if you have to "stop out" of the program for longer than two weeks. She posts regular messages about GED On-line to the program’s Message Board, so check for messages when you log-on.
Tracie - Enrollment Coordinator - 702-469-1539
Tracie enrolls students in southern Nevada
Andrea - Enrollment Coordinator - 775-829-7323
Andrea (generally referred to as Andy) enrolls students In northern Nevada (Reno/Sparks)
Debbie - Virtual Teacher - Program email
Debbie can assist you with subject-matter questions as you work through the program and she also scores your essay drafts and give you input as to how you can improve your essay. You contact Debbie through the program – as you are working if you come upon a question that you just can’t seem to figure out, you can email Debbie right-then-and-there in the program and ask for her help – she’ll normally get back to you within 24 hours.
Mary - Math Guru - Workshops
Mary is Nevada GED On-line’s “Math Guru” – she, along with Debbie, provides classroom instruction for students in southern Nevada every other month (third Saturday of the month) in a workshop format – Mary teaches you math strategies, while Debbie teaches you grammar and writing strategies.
