Northern Nevada Literacy Council (NNLC) educates more than 1,000 adult learners every year by providing free English as a Second Language and Citizenship classes to foreign-born adults. NNLC also helps adults obtain their GEDs and get into college, training and better-paying jobs.

NNLC is a community-based, non-profit organization that assists the low-income and low-literacy population of our community to improve their lives through education and opportunities.

Businesses can help support NNLC one of the following ways:

  1. NNLC Scholarship and Graduation Program
    – Sponsor an NNLC student at $3,000 per student
    – $75 scholarship to pay for the HiSET testing fee for NNLC getting their GEDs 
    – Food for graduation event – 6 events per year @ $300 = $1,800
  2. Donate books and magazines
  3. Donate tutoring hours to help students learn to read, write and speak English
