Citizenship Program

NNLC is proud to partner with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada in offering the Citizenship Program.

Funded by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), NNLC offers weeknights and weekend classes to prepare students to sit for the USCIS naturalization exam and interview. Improved English Language literacy is also included in the class. NNLC partners with Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada in providing access to legal services including legal advising and completion of the N-400 form.

To date hundreds of students have successfully achieved their high school equivalency certification, improved English Literacy, became permanent U.S. Citizens, leading to enrollment in post-secondary education, vocational training and employment.

Citizenship CLasses

Rights and Responsibilities of U.S. Citizenship

Students will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship test. Students will be able to answer the 100 civics questions and develop the confidence needed to take the Citizenship test.

Please note that this preparatory class does not guarantee United States Citizenship, and all applicants must meet all U.S. Citizenship criteria. The criteria is as follows:[/fusion_text][fusion_checklist icon=”fa-check” iconcolor=”” circle=”” circlecolor=”” size=”13px” class=”” id=””][fusion_li_item icon=””]Must be 18 years or older.[/fusion_li_item][fusion_li_item icon=””]Be a lawful permanent resident in the U.S. for 5 years or 3 years if you are married to a U.S. Citizen.[/fusion_li_item][fusion_li_item icon=””]Show that you have been physically present in the U.S. for 30 months.[/fusion_li_item][fusion_li_item icon=””]Be able to speak, read and write basic English.[/fusion_li_item][/fusion_checklist][fusion_text]This class is offered on the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. – Noon. Registration is preferred. 
(Walk-in registration is not guaranteed. Space is limited!)
