In late August, NNLC welcomed a delegation of English Teachers and School Directors from Russia as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program.

What a wonderful opportunity for us to hear about their experiences across the country and abroad and for them to hear about our language programs here at NNLC.

Throughout their tour we were able to share stories, best practices, curriculum and textbooks with these up and coming leaders from all over Russia. Many of the teachers were particularly interested in NNLC’s distance learning option. With proper infrastructure, a distance learning option is ideal for students who, for whatever reason, are not able to physically come to our facility for classes. This is not a unique problem, especially for the instructors who are working in Siberia. Technology can be a fabulous accessibility tool for schools to utilize.

Thanks to the Northern Nevada International Center for including us on their tour! The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program.
